Child Sponsorship

This is a medium to long-term commitment, where you would be encouraged to build a relationship with a particular child. The funds are used by CHILD’s Trust to help provide the basic requirements of life, give dignity to the poor and provide 'life' opportunities. We work with local partners who share our values and are committed to improving the welfare of each child in their care.

CHILD’s Trust has two levels of sponsorship

  • Traditional sponsorship is either for those in large children’s home such as Jeetgarh and Hebron Hostel, where their basic needs are met; or in other projects such as SASA, DPS (Kandoli Area), Saper Nath (Snake charmers colony) where it pays for the child’s educational requirement, as they live with their parents in very poor remote areas, the schools may also include a high protein meal and assistance with homework. Here the cost is £18 per month.
  • Enhanced sponsorship is where a child lives in a small home, with the maximum of 10 children. These special children either have no parents or they are incapable of caring for them. This home is as close to a traditional Christian family home as possible. All the children (including the children of the house parents) will be treated equal regardless of their gender, religion, caste or ability. They will receive the highest quality education, medical, nutritional and spiritual care. As a result of the above there is a need to provide additional funds to finance this. We call these projects a House of Hope (Viswajyoti) and the cost is £30 per month.

 

Whatever the sponsorship level the child that you sponsor will be encouraged to write to you at least twice a year and you will also be encouraged to send cards at Christmas and birthdays.
