Samvedna

Samvedna means Empathy and was started in September 2004 by local Christians after CHILD’s Trust helped a lad with polio.

Samvedna is based in the Rudraprayag mountain range of the Himalayan foothills. It is a fantastic project, especially as the propensity for disability - physical and mental - is unusually high in this mountain range. When you see the differently-abled children, there is an overwhelming feeling of helplessness towards those who sometimes become untouchables in their own families and communities; the miracle of healing brings a powerful message of hope and love. Seeing the valuable impact it has in the lives of the children, we just did what comes naturally – reached out with a helping hand.

Money given to this project pays for the medical care needed to help change these special children’s lives.
