About Child's Trust

CHILD’s Trust was started in 1999 by a group of Christians moved by the needs of under privileged children in India. It was set up to help make a difference in children’s lives by supplying their basic needs.

What are basic needs?
The first few answers could and should be food, water, shelter, a good education, spiritual input and yes these are top of the list BUT on my first trip to India I saw a simple door on the loo as a basic need (especially for me) so why not for the children too. We now look at each project and assess what their basic needs are, like the children in them they are all very different.

CHILD’s Trust has grown so much since May 99 when we supported just 10 children, via a sponsorship programme. At present we support approx 100 children but have an impact on approx 1,000 little lives. We have 9 projects across India all very different, but have one thing in common, they are all run by fantastic Christian people who love the children and want them to know they are special to God too.

CHILD’s Trust is based in Basingstoke Hants UK and has been a registered charity since October 1999 (reg Charity No 1078151). We have 5 trustees at present alongside an administrator, and all their time is given voluntarily. CHILD's Trust is working with various projects using child sponsorship schemes, project sponsorship and gifts to help supply basic needs for the children. CHILD's Trust aims to visit each of the projects at least once per year, these trips are currently self funded by the individuals.
